Specifications

Original set of Farmer chairs and tables by Gerd Lange for Bofinger, Germany 1960s

Original farmer chairs and matching side tables. Designed by Gerd Lange for Bofinger in the 1960s. They are made entirely from wood with ingenious wood connections. The construction of the chair is held together by the overlapping canvas seat tied together with rope underneath. The construction of the table is held together by small pins inserted in the uprights.
Chairs and tables are completely original apart from the rope. The original one was deteriorated by time and not usable anymore.
The frames are in the original color with fading consistent with age and use. Structurally they are in very good condition. The canvas is still very strong but has staining, discoloration and some wear and tear.
Accept for the rope, nothing has been altered or restored to keep them as original as possible.
They were sourced from the original owner who kept them stored disassembled and rolled up in the canvas seats for many years. Even the original user manual booklets were stored with them. These show info about the designer and maker and a detailed description of how to assemble.
