Specifications

"Globe" lounge chair by Peter Opsvik for Stokke, Norway 1980s

Low "Globe" lounge chair. Designed by Peter Opsvik for Stokke in the 1980s. This extreme design is a work of art on itself while it is also a very comfortable chair.
The foot rest and back rest extend out like branches on a tree from a central column mounted on a round base plate. The seat pivots on top of the central column.

Peter Opsvik is known for his extravagant yet ergonomic designs.
Some other iconic designs by stokke include the Gravity chair, the Ekstrem (by Terje Ekstrøm) and the globes big brother, the Globe Garden chair.

The chair is still in very good condition. The wood and black wool upholstery are very good. Only the black carpet on the floor plate has some wear and tear. It can be easily replaced if needed.
